Highest eviction volumes — cities
Large-city rankings from Princeton Eviction Lab’s 2016 extract. Judgments and rates are sourced. Filing counts are omitted because they are not in that file.

Source, not our case book. City and state ranking tables on this site reproduce Princeton Eviction Lab’s published 2016 rankings extract (evictionlab.org/rankings). Those columns are eviction judgments and eviction rates (judgments per 100 renter households) — not filing counts. Eviction Lab’s national 2016 series separately reports filings; that city/state ranking CSV does not. We do not invent filing totals to fill the gap. Get the data from Eviction Lab.
Eviction Lab’s national series for 2016 reports 2,350,042 eviction filings and 898,479 eviction judgments (national.csv). That national filing total is not broken out by city in the rankings extract we commit, so city tables below use judgments and rates only.
Large cities by 2016 eviction judgments
Area type “large city” in the Eviction Lab rankings file (places they treat as 100,000+). Sorted by judgment count. Rate is shown so volume is not confused with prevalence.

Same universe, sorted by eviction rate. A high rate on a smaller renter base is not the same as the most judgments.
